Plot Overview:
Set in the year 2104, Alien: Covenant follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant, which is en route to a remote planet to establish a new human settlement. During their journey, they discover a seemingly habitable planet, which turns out to be the home of Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (from Prometheus), though she is not present. On the planet, the crew encounters the artificial being, David (played by Michael Fassbender), the last survivor of the Prometheus mission, who had previously been exploring the origins of life.
David, who is both a synthetic human and the creation of the Weyland Corporation, has become obsessed with the creation of life and the potential to evolve it. He reveals that he has been experimenting with the black goo (a bioweapon) discovered in the previous film, and has created horrific new life forms, including the proto-xenomorphs. The crew is forced to confront these deadly creatures as they attempt to escape the planet, while uncovering the dark secrets of David’s twisted experiments.
