The restoration process involved a nine-month effort by the Walt Disney Film Restoration team to digitally enhance the film’s visual and audio quality. Specific release dates for the Blu-ray and global theatrical screenings have yet to be announced.
In Salzburg, Austria, the birthplace of the von Trapp family, the anniversary is being celebrated with an extensive program.
