Toy Story 5 (2025) animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the fourth installment in the Toy Story franchise, following Toy Story 3 (2010), and continues the story of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the other toys as they face new challenges and adventures.
Plot Summary:
The movie picks up some time after Toy Story 3, with Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) and the rest of the toys now living with their new owner, a young girl named Bonnie (voiced by Madeleine McGraw). Bonnie is starting kindergarten, and Woody, feeling unsure about his place in her life, is still devoted to ensuring her happiness.
During a road trip, Bonnie creates a new toy from a spork, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes, which she names Forky (voiced by Tony Hale). Forky, however, believes he is trash, not a toy, and struggles with his new identity. Woody takes it upon himself to make Forky understand the importance of being a toy, and he becomes determined to help him adjust.
The adventure takes a dramatic turn when Bonnie and her family stop at an old roadside carnival, and Forky runs away, feeling like he doesn’t belong with the other toys. Woody goes after him, and the story leads them to encounter several new characters, including Gabby Gabby (voiced by Christina Hendricks), an antique doll with a broken voice box who desires to replace hers with Woody’s. Along the way, Woody reunites with his long-lost friend, Bo Peep (voiced by Annie Potts), who has been living independently for years as a lost toy and has become a free-spirited adventurer.
Throughout the journey, Woody faces questions about loyalty, purpose, and what it means to be a toy, while also dealing with the fact that his relationship with Bonnie may not be the same as it was with Andy (the original owner from the first three films). As the story unfolds, Woody must choose between staying with the other toys and being there for Bonnie, or following Bo Peep into a new life as a free toy.
