The blue blur is back in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2025), the latest entry in the fast-paced, action-packed franchise. Directed by Jeff Fowler, the third installment picks up right after the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022), with Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) continuing his fight to protect his world from the forces of evil. This time, however, the stakes are even higher as Sonic faces an entirely new level of danger, while also confronting his own identity and purpose.
Plot:
Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) may have been defeated before, but his plans are far from over. With the help of his new ally, Shadow the Hedgehog (voiced by Idris Elba), Robotnik unleashes a new chaos upon the world. As Sonic teams up with his friends—Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) and Knuckles (Idris Elba)—to stop them, they discover that Shadow has a personal vendetta against Sonic, with a past that connects them in ways they never imagined. Along the way, they uncover a powerful new energy source that could alter the balance of both their world and the universe itself.
